Refugee Services Toolkit (RST)

The Refugee Services Toolkit is a web-based resource designed to help service providers understand the experiences of refugee children and families, identify the needs associated with their mental health, and ensure that they are connected with the most appropriate available interventions. The Toolkit explores multiple factors that affect the mental health and general well-being of refugee children and families, including trauma, stressors including resettlement, acculturation, and social isolation, as well as strengths that contribute to resilience. Specifically, the Toolkit is designed to

  • Identify risk factors
  • Recommend interventions, and
  • Provide resources.

The Toolkit was co-developed by the Children's Hospital Boston Center for Refugee Trauma & Resilience and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN). The NCTSN also offers webinars and continuing education resources on child trauma, trauma-informed care, and related issues:
